There isn’t a lot of musical variation here.  Nor does it feel like there’s a lot of real “music” on display.  Of course, for the club/dance crowd, that’s not necessarily a negative, but rather the state of the industry.  It should be noted that while things like pitch perfect are somewhat industry standard, too, JVigil seems to play it clean.  That says he has a kind of voice that doesn’t need help.  It’s another point worth praise, particularly in the modern musical environment.

Overall, JVigil seems to have created a club/dance single that should work well in that environment.  He’s managed to do so without resorting to the type of foul language often put forth these days.  He’s also done it without artificial enhancement to his voice.  Both of those things earn him some serious respect and elevate this tune beyond a lot of its competition.  Whether one likes the genre or not, an artist who creates music without resorting to the “cheap and easy” tactics deserves recognition and JVigil is such an artist. It will be interesting to see what else this performer creates moving forward.

I want to thank all of you for your continued support over the past several months! My first single Beware is gaining in popularity and as you know my full length CD went live online in the music stores on January 10th and is picking up steam. On January 12 my dance team and I made our first live performance at my CD release event on Capitol Hill and I’m happy to report we rocked it! Additionally, the event was packed! The energy was high, DJ100Proof delivered an amazing set throughout the evening and everyone really enjoyed themselves. You can check out all the amazing photos here.

What you need to know about this record. I wrote the songs featured on my full album with collaboration with my producers Isaac Porter and Parker Reddington. Two amazing talents in Seattle. The inspiration to write this music came purely from reflection of my own life and the lives of those closest to me. When you sit down and listen to the record track-by-track you will observe distinctive themes throughout. Everything from lust, temptation, love, heartbreak, perseverance and joy. This album is special to me because completing it marks ten years of my life thinking and hoping to one day do this. Corny as it may seem I guess Mariah’s right..”you can make it, make it happen.”

In the coming week’s I’m returning to the recording studio to continue work on my second album. Additionally, we’re working hard to book some live performances. I can’t wait to get back in front of everyone so stay tuned for updates on Facebook as well as right here at j-vigil.com.
